Homeland Security Secretary Christie Noem’s wallet was stolen with thousands of people in cash at a Washington, D.C. restaurant on Sunday night.
The wallet was photographed of a white man wearing a mask, and the bag contained $3,000 in cash and personal documents such as a passport, keys, driver’s license and DHS badge.
“Her whole family was in town, including her children and grandchildren. She used her departure to treat her family as dinner, activities and Easter gifts,” the spokesman said.
Crimes in the capital continue to be a major issue, including theft. According to the US Lawyer’s office at the time, violent crimes hit their lowest in 30 years last year.

President Donald Trump has put pressure on Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser to not only increase the presence of law enforcement, but also cleanse the homeless encampment in the city itself. The President will create a task force, with the goal of improving public safety and making it “the pride of all Americans to which it belongs.”

“We need to clean up the once beautiful capital and make it beautiful again. Just like we have before, we struggle with crime. I will work with the mayor on this, he added.
