Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) said Monday in CNN’s “Situation Room” Defense Secretary Pete Hegses should be fired or resigned after reports that military details were shared in the second signal group chat.
“This is the guy you know above his head and he said nothing about denialing this crude and sloppy misuse of information. I’m sharing it with his family now,” Warner said.
He continued. “It’s past whether Hegses should be stopped or fired, and I think my Republican senator friends will be friends with my Republican senators who care about our national security.
Warner said, “I was down a few weeks before Virginia Beach. I had a big town hall. Many of the people in Town Hall knew people in Truman. Truman was an aircraft or plane fired against the carrier of the aircraft that launched these attacks or the Houthis. Awful, terrible way.
