Police sources say a 61-year-old woman was fatally shot from a Harlem apartment on Tuesday night.
Sources say the woman was caught in a crossfire and shot a bullet in her head as she left the West 113th Avenue and Lennox Avenue building just before 10:30pm.
She was rushing to Mount Morningside in Sinai, where she was declared dead, police said.
Sources say the corresponding officers found one of the 23-year-old men, a 23-year-old man, had injured his left leg at the scene.
The suspect was taken into custody and taken to the same hospital in stable condition. It is unknown if he shot a woman.
No other gunmen have been identified yet, sources said.
Sources say a firearm and eight shell casings were found at the scene.
Police said the shooting is still under investigation and the victim’s identity has been withheld until family notification is pending.
