When asked if following in the footsteps of former Pennsylvania stars Lovers Arlington and Saquon Berkley would be a first-round draft pick by the Giants, Carter said, “It’s going to be a blessing.”

“I want to take advantage of that opportunity,” Carter said.

Carter said his meeting with the Giants “good” and thought “I definitely have good feelings with them.”

The Tennessee Titans hold the No. 1 overall pick and are widely expected to select Miami quarterback Come Ward as the top pick. The Cleveland Browns hold the No. 2 overall pick and appear to prefer Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter over Carter.

If Ward and Hunter actually get first and second to the Titans and Browns, respectively, Carter will remain on the Giants’ board, third overall.

Carter was the top defensive player for the Big Ten in 2024, earning 68 tackles, last season, Pennsylvania’s 12 bags tackles and 23.5 tackles. Over his career, Carter has been defended by 39.5 tackles losses, 23 bags and 14 passes.

Carter was added to the already strong Giants defensive front as he went into the slot alongside Brian Burns, Cavon Thibodeau and Dexter Lawrence.

The Giants relied on Carter to quickly influence as they moved 3-14 last season and were starring on the roster.
