Lions star Jameson Williams is not the only wide receiver whose social media activity has been buzzing with fans during NFL Draft Week.
Steelers standout George Pickens unlocked the team that drafted him in the 52nd overall three years ago, multiple outlets reported Wednesday, NFL insider Jordan Schultz claimed former Georgia product Referenced in “Trade Discussion” Between multiple teams.
The Steelers are not said to be “actively shopping” Piken, but according to Schultz it appears that “conversation took place.”
There was a lot of speculation about Pickens’ future as they remained on their rookie contract for a year.
Even if former Seahawks receiver DK Metcalf is added this offseason, the team will remain steady that the Pickens are part of the present and future.
“I’m happy that George and DK are here. I think they’ll be exciting for everyone to see,” Steelers general manager Omar Kahn I said this weekaccording to Steelers Wire.
The 24-year-old Pickens was following the Steelers account as of March 9th. According to Steelers Depothowever, it is unclear when the obvious purge occurred.
The former second-round pick was away from Pittsburgh’s rocky season, where he was at the centre of some controversy.
The Pickens appeared late to the Steelers’ Christmas Day chief and fell in love with it along with fans during the team’s regular season finale with the Bengals in January.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin also pleaded with Pickens to “grow” after portraying the penalty for two sportsman-like behavior against Cincinnati at the beginning of the year.
“He just has to grow,” Tomlin said in December. “It’s an emotional game. The games in these divisions are big. He has a target on his back because he’s George. He understands that. But he has to grow, he has to hurry up.”
The Pickens scored 59 receptions and three touchdowns for 900 yards in 14 regular season games last year.
Pickens’ curious social media activity comes after Williams posted a mysterious message earlier this week following a report claiming he was on the trading block.
Williams is the first round pick against Detroit in 2022.
It is still unclear what the Steelers will do in pick No. 21 on Thursday, when the 2025 NFL Draft began.
Colorado quarterback Chedur Sanders is deeply connected to Pittsburgh, but has made it clear that anyone throwing a pass to Pickens and Metcalf will become a lucky QB.
