The former TV Weatherman was arrested for allegedly threatening to create a secret sex tape and release it.
Josh Fitzpatrick, who worked for 29News in Charlottesville, Virginia, has been accused of secretly filming the accuser during a “consensual sexual encounter,” police said.
The suspect reported the incident in February, and the 42-year-old meteorologist later told officers he “forced and threatened” in the release of the clip.
Investigators said Fitzpatrick moved to Ohio shortly after the probe began.
He was plagued there on Tuesday with the help of Ohio law enforcement, officers said.
Fitzpatrick was slapped on charges of sexual terror and illegal creation of other images.
Police warned former Weatherman in custody waiting for extradition to Virginia that there may be more casualties and urged others to move forward.
His former employer covered the news of his arrest but stopped publishing statements.
The outlet said he left his position to the TV station in early March.
