“I read from the AP from here. Farmers are afraid that tariffs will sacrifice them one of China’s biggest markets. What are your farmers saying? And what are we worried about for tariffs and farmers?” host Mike Slater asked Miller. Miller said this is nothing new to farmers.

“Actually, AG[ricultural] Industry, especially here in Illinois, grain and cows and pigs, it has been distributed for decades. And the people in my district, those I’m talking to, are totally supportive of President Trump,” the lawmaker said.

“They supported him here at Illinois 15. They know we are taking advantage of the world stage in light of trade policy. In fact, the Biden administration was very passive under trade policy and actually hurt the farmers here,” she revealed.

When asked specifically about soybean farmers and the fact that China purchased more than half of its soybean exports last year, Miller said he doesn’t think the current situation will last forever.

She further noted that this clearly “is a good leverage point to bring China to the table to actually negotiate for a better trade deal, as China needs us for food.”

“This is temporary. Clearly, the farmers who are talking to my family know that this is temporary and get a better trade deal in the future,” she added, ultimately debating that the people of her nation face decades of difficult times due to Democratic policy.

“The Illinois people in rural Illinois were scared of what Joe Biden was doing and JB Pretzker. We are in a sanctuary state. They opened our country. And now, JB Pritzker and his policies,” she added.
