The era of toxic compounds injected into US food supplies is “closing an end,” said Robert F. Kennedy Jr., director of Health and Human Services, on Thursday.
“For too long, some food producers have fed American oil-based chemicals without knowledge or consent,” Kennedy said in a post along with the X video.
“These toxic compounds do not provide nutritional benefits and pose realistic and measurable risks to children’s health and development. The times are coming to an end,” he said.
“And we’re working with the industry to do that by removing these toxic dyes from the food our families eat every day,” he added.
clock:
On Tuesday, Kennedy joined the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Marty McCurry, who announced the end of “oil-based food dyes” in US food supply.
“Today, the FDA is taking action to remove oil-based food dyes from the US food supply and drugs,” McCurry said.
“The scientific community has conducted many studies that raise concerns about the correlation between petroleum-based synthetic dyes and several health conditions, including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obesity, diabetes, insulin resistance, cancer, genome disruption, and GI problems.

I’m planning to do it again permission In the coming weeks, we are collaborating with “four new natural color additives” and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to “conduct a comprehensive study on how food additives affect children’s health and development.”
The FDA is also asking businesses to remove FD&C Red No. 3 earlier than the required deadline for 2027-2028.
Kennedy said that when his uncle John F. Kennedy was president in the 1960s, individuals were much healthier.
“When my uncle was president, zero was spent in this country treating chronic illnesses. Today, it’s about $1.8 trillion a year. That’s bankrupt our country,” he said.
He added:
74% of American children are not eligible for military service. How do we maintain global leadership in a population with such diseases? We suffer from all these autoimmune diseases, these exotic diseases. Again, I have never heard of juvenile diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Crohn’s disease, or 100 others. I never knew anyone who had a peanut allergy, I knew no one who had a food allergy.
The move sees it as an epidemic as Kennedy has announced a plan to publish a study showing “the exact environmental toxins” that causes autism, and has seen autism rates rise again in children.
