Illegal Alien Sentenced to Life in Prison for Double Murder on Las Vegas Strip

An illegal foreigner, previously protected by California’s statewide sanctuary policy, was sentenced to life in prison in 2022 after killing 30-year-old Maris Marine Degiovanni and 47-year-old Brent Alan Hallett on the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada.

That’s what Yoni Barrios, an illegal foreigner from Guatemala. I was given Two life sentences to stab the Las Vegas strip, stab the Las Vegas strip for stabing Canadian tourist Degiovanni and Canadian tourist Hallett near the Winn Hotel on October 6, 2022.

Two months after the stab wound, Barrios was mentally unfit to endure trial and spent two years treating him. He ultimately pleaded guilty to attempted murder and murder charges against him.

Carmelita Hallett, widow of Hallett; I said A 2022 Canadian news outlet where she and her husband visited Las Vegas several times and were in crazy love.

“We’ve been together for a long time, so half of my brain is Brent and the other half is Calmelita. We can’t separate us, we’re the same,” Calmelita said. “We were together for most of our lives.”

Meanwhile, Digiovanni leaves behind her husband Cole Jordan, his parents, siblings, grandparents and dozens of cousins.

“Maris, who always opened their doors for friends and family, was always a life of gatherings,” her obituary wrote:

Maris always saw the best of people, always gave them a chance, always embraced people about who they were. Her enormous ability for love leads her to have lasting friendships from all over the world. She is a beautiful spirit and soul and we will miss her for the rest of our lives.

Barrios had a criminal history in the sanctuary states of California. California appears to be protecting him from arrests and deportation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) agencies.

Specifically, former Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey (D) failed to indict Barrios on domestic violence charges in 2019.

Three years ago, in 2016, Barrios was charged with dangerous driving and driving without a license in Riverside County, California, but was not handed over to ice agents for arrest and deportation.
