Minnesota shoplifting bust narrowly thwarts possible mass-shooting: ‘Deathtoamerikka’

Shoplifting in Minnesota proved to be much more eerie. Police claim that the crazy suspect plans to carry out religiously charged “mass stacking” shootings within hours.

According to Blue Earth County charging documents, 24-year-old Mohamed Adan Mohamed was arrested on April 17 after taking off from the Mankato Sporting Goods Store on April 17 after being fitted with more than $2,000 ammunition magazine, body armor and bear spray.

Store employees noticed that Mohamed was wandering around the store in an oversized jacket, medical mask and hat, and grabbed expensive items off the shelf without checking the price.

When they confronted him, he explained that he was buying supplies for his AR-style rifle, according to the documentation.

Police were called to the scene over reports of suspected people, but before they arrived, the store security tried to stop him, so Mohamed escaped with the goods. He then jumped into a plateless minivan and spitted out.

However, he left a shopping list at the scene labelled “Survival Gearist” which included sleeping bags, gun magazines, pepper spray, knives, lighters, and bows and arrows.

One responding officer reviewing the strange list remembers a recent investigation into a local man who posted a video of himself pointing a gun at camera.

Police say the hashtags on these videos (allegedly posted by Mohamed) are reading “Deathtoamerikkan & Israeliimperialisis.”

Investigators discovered that Siena was registered at the nearby address of St. Peter’s Mohamed, consistent with what was seen at the scene, and determined that “there is a strong indicator that Mohamed is preparing to launch some kind of attack in the next 24 hours.”

Investigators searched Mohamed’s home and found an assault rifle and two 3D printed guns. He was later arrested at his home.

The neighbor said he was saddened by Mohamed’s arrest but was not completely surprised. My former classmate recalled that he had struggled with mental health since high school.

“We grew up together in St. Peter. It’s heartbreaking,” a neighbor named Dunia told CBS Minnesota. “We’re just starting to talk to herself, not interacting with her kids, but with herself.”

“He has a very beautiful heart,” she added. “He’s a really nice guy. It’s just that he’s not physically there for now, mentally or physically.”

Mohamed was charged with felony larceny and threats of violence. Both charges could serve up to five years in prison.
