Advocate’s Health Group will immediately suspend acceptance of certain Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans in Illinois.
According to Blue Cross Blue Shield, Advocate Physician Partners are not part of the insurance giant’s HMO Illinois Network since July 1, 2025.
An advocate healthcare spokesman confirmed the news to NBC Chicago and said “certain providers will no longer be involved in the BCBS HMO Illinois Plan,” but the Health System “will continue to work closely with Blue Cross and maintain the network for a variety of other Blue Plans.”
According to a spokesman, the change will not affect the hospital.
“We are always committed to acting in our patients’ best interests and ensuring that patients undergoing treatment maintain access to high quality, coordinated care,” the spokesman said.
Blue Cross said supporters will remain in the Blue Advantage HMO network, a more affordable healthcare plan.
The next group is one of the supporter partners to leave the BCBS HMO network this summer, according to the company.
