A group of four teenagers were arrested this week in New York City in connection with the “gang assault” of a 65-year-old man, authorities said late Friday.
The victim is Li, a retired NYPD-based Li, and the teenager is said to have turned his anger at him after facing them for harassing a taxi driver. New York Post Reported source of citation.
Unidentified teens are said to have punched the man in his face and hit him with his backpack before running away. The NYPD said five suspects were involved in the attack.

A 65-year-old man was attacked in New York City for “gang assault” by a group of New York City teenagers this week, New York police confirmed. (NYPD)
He was knocked down during the attack and suffered minor injuries to his face and knees on suspicion of an attack that took place on the Upper East Side of Manhattan near Park Avenue.
He refused to see a doctor on the scene, police said.

“They were looking for trouble and harassing everyone they saw,” the victim said. “When they started bothering the taxi driver, I told him to leave him alone.
On Friday night, the NYPD said three 14-year-old boys and another 13-year-old man had been arrested. They are all charged with second-degree attacks and second-degree gang attacks.

One of the suspects wore a black T-shirt, black sneakers and black and white shorts. The second one was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants. The third one was wearing a white T-shirt and gray pants. The fourth was wearing a white T-shirt and gray shorts, while the last suspect was wearing a black T-shirt and gray pants, police said.
