Long Island teacher, coach Adrian Gilmore dead after suffering medical emergency in front of students

The beloved Long Island Elementary School teacher and high school soccer coach passed away two days after suffering a traumatic medical episode in front of students.

Adrian Gilmore, 48, sixth graders at Shoreham of Albert G. Prodell Middle School and Varsity Soccer Coach of Shoreham-Wading River High School passed away Thursday after suffering a “medical emergency” in front of students on Tuesday. News12 reported.

“Adrian Gilmore is not only a dedicated and passionate educator, but he has also been an outstanding coach, mentor and inspiration for generations of SWR colleagues, families and students,” Gerald Poole, the head of the river, who scatters the coast, said in a letter to the community, according to the outlet.

Neither the mother of the three deaths nor the nature of her medical episodes have been revealed by authorities.

“Adrian’s life was a beautiful reflection full of grace, strength and deep love for others. She poured her heart into everything she did, whether she raised her children, raised students, or led an athlete.”

According to the outlet, Gilmore also coached women’s lacrosse.

“Beyond her impressive achievements, Adrian is remembered as another coach and teacher leader, a passionate advocate for children, and a trusted colleague who has influenced far beyond the school barriers,” Poole writes.

“Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she has touched as a teacher, coach and community leader. She is deeply overlooked by everyone who has the privilege of knowing her.”

Gilmore was survived by her husband Tim and three children.
