Three people travelling by small planes on Saturday were killed after crashing about a mile south of a rural Sparta, Tennessee airport.
Airport officials and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) told Fox News Digital that a single-engine Mooney M20TN aircraft crashed at noon local time due to the approach to the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport.

A famous stunt pilot was in contact with the Control Tower before the fatal crash at Langley Air Force Base
All three people on board were killed in the collision, airport officials confirmed. Those identities have not been released yet.
The FAA is currently on the scene, with the National Traffic Safety Board (NTSB) in the process.

The crash comes days after the famous stunt pilot died while he was about to land at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia.

Pilot Rob Holland was the only person on board and died after crashing into dirt near the taxiway just after 11:30am on Thursday.
The Netherlands were trying to land everyday when the tragedy occurred and not performing any stunts, Boggs said.

Officials confirmed that the Netherlands had been in contact with air traffic controllers prior to the crash.
Airfield It was closed at the time and military operations were not affected.
