Stephen Curry carries Jimmy Butler-less Warriors to pivotal Game 3 win

SAN FRANCISCO — Stephen Curry eventually found his shooting ditch, but Houston tried to stop him, finishing with 36 points, nine assists and seven rebounds before passing the Rockets 104-93 on Saturday night, with Jimmy Butler leading 2-1 for a 2-1 lead.

Playoff Steph was delivered on a full-length fur coat while Playoff Jimmy became his biggest cheerleader on the bench.

Buddy Hield scored 17 points off the bench with five three-pointers. This is because the Warriors won three six straight wins in the opening round.

Gary Payton II scored 11 of 16 points in the fourth quarter.

Game 4 of the Top 7 Series is Monday night at Chase Centre. The biggest question is whether Butler can heal in time to contribute.

The Warriors missed all their do-front after being pelvic injuries and deep glut muscles contempted in a severe fall during Game 2.

Fred VanVleet hit back-to-back three-pointers to score Houston’s first nine points, making a 3-point play that got caught up in 17.

Curry scored 4,053 career playoff points, passing Tony Parker (4,045) the 10th in NBA history.

The 37-year-old star ended up two at 13 from long distance, eventually connecting from a deep 5:16 before halftime, with the 37-year-old star missing out on three three-point tries during the opening period. His 13-point second quarter helped him attract Golden State within 49-46 on a break after trailing by the age of 13.

Dillon Brooks defended Amen Thompson’s foul against Butler, which led to injury, and was fouled out with 3:47 left the day after calling Draymond Green a “dirty” player.

Thompson, Brooks and all Rockets were booed during pre-match introductions.

Brooks then fouled Curry 11 seconds after the game. He picked up his second foul at the 5:24 mark in the first quarter, delighting the crowd. The fans were equally excited when Sengan drove into the basket, and missed badly when they tried out the first one-handed slam. Brooks had four fouls at halftime.

The Warriors lost three straights at home in the final week of the regular season, defeating Memphis in a play-in game that doesn’t count towards that record.
