Shedeur Sanders Selected by Cleveland Browns in Fifth Round of NFL Draft

Shedeur Sanders, son of NFL legend Deion Sanders, was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round of the NFL Draft after skating in the previous round.

The Browns were reportedly traded up, taking the “144th” overall. According to New York Post. Shededur’s Browns selection made Dillon Gabriel the second quarterback selected in the NFL draft after being drafted in the third round.

Other quarterbacks on the team include Joe Fraco, who previously played for the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, New York Jets, and Kenny Pickett and Desshaun Watson.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry at a press conference I explained it Selecting two quarterbacks during the draft wasn’t necessarily a team’s plan, but he added that the team loves “addling competition to all position rooms.”

“Selecting two quarterbacks wasn’t necessarily a plan to go on the weekend, but as we’re talking, we believe in the best players available,” Berry said. “We believe in the value of the position and didn’t necessarily expect him to be available in the fifth round, so we love adding competition to every position room and adding him to compete with those already there. We felt that was the right thing to do.”

In response to Chedur’s lack of selection in the first round of the NFL Draft, President Donald Trump criticized the NFL owners and questioned whether they were “silly.”

“What’s wrong with the owners of the NFL, are they stupid?” Trump wrote the truth socially post. “Deion Sanders is a great college football player and was even bigger in the NFL. He is also a very good coach in the street-wise and smart. His quarterback son, Shedeur, has incredible genes and is all set for greatness.

Former Rep. Jamal Bowman (D-NY) criticized the NFL after Chedur was not selected in the first round of the draft, claiming it was due to racism.

Shedur previously played football as the starting quarterback for the Colorado Buffaloes at the University of Colorado Boulder and played as a quarterback at Jackson State.
