A new survey reveals that a majority of Americans think President Trump and Democrats “have not addressed many people’s concerns.”
The recent Washington Post ABC News Ipsos Poll indicates that 60% of participants feel Trump is “not in touch with” the “concerns of most people” in the country. Meanwhile, 69% believe Democrats are “not in touch,” and 64% feel the same about Republicans.
The findings suggest that while Americans trust Trump more than Congressional Democrats, none of the groups receive positive evaluations.
Posts are generating interest regarding Trump’s ratings, which are heavily influenced by political affiliation. Over 90% of Democrats disapprove of his performance, while more than 80% of Republicans approve.
Nevertheless, 15% of GOP voters rated Trump negatively, an increase from his performance at the 100-day mark of his first term.
Studies indicate that Trump’s overall approval has been decreasing since February. Earlier this year, 45% approved of his presidency, whereas only 39% gave approval in April.
The president has faced several unfavorable polls as he nears key evaluation points of his presidency.
A poll by the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that around four in ten Americans perceive Trump as a “terrifying” leader in his second term.
Trump’s approval stood at 42% in a New York Times/Siena College poll, considerably lower than other recent presidential ratings in the initial 100 days of his administration.
The results highlight a general dissatisfaction with Trump’s policies, as many Americans believe he has overstepped his authority and harmed both the economy and the United States’ global standing.
The Washington Post/Ipsos Survey was conducted with 2,454 participants from April 18th to 22nd, with a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
