One Dead, Several Injured After Boat Crashes Into Ferry In Florida

Florida boat accident: At least one person was killed and others were injured after a boat crashed into a ferry in Florida, USA on Sunday (local time). The accident occurred near Memorial Causeway Bridge in Clearwater around 8:30pm. The boat that attacked the ferry fled the scene, police said.

The Clearwater Police Department has named it a “major casualty event.” All injuries were reported on the ferry, carrying 45 people, including two crew members.

Of the injuries, six patients were “declared as trauma alerts.” In the meantime, police said the two people flew to Baycare Health with various minor injuries.

The boat that raided the ferry escaped from the scene at the time of the accident, but was later identified by another law enforcement agency, according to a report by Fox News. Police have not provided details about the boat.

Police said that after it was attacked, the ferry took a rest in the sandbar south of the bridge, and at 10:30pm, the first responder removed all patients and passengers from there.

“It is not believed that anyone has been reported missing from the ferry,” the city of Clearwater said in X.
