Stefanik Takes Commanding Lead in GOP Gov Primary in NY

Polls suggest that if Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) races to become New York’s next governor, she will not only take command of the Republican primary, but will also approach defeating Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-ny).

A Greyhouse poll conducted between April 22-24, 2025, which surveyed 826 registered voters in New York found that if the Governor of New York’s next Republican primary was held today, 44% of voters would support Stefanik and 7% would support Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY).
