How Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes connected with their Alpine F1 drivers

Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes have put their money into the Formula 1 Alpine Team, showing that they’re not just about football but also excited about racing. This Sunday, Jacques Douhan and Pierre Guthrie will be competing at the Miami Grand Prix, and they shared some insights on their connection with the Super Bowl champions, who are managing fame, family, and success in their own ways.

Doohan, who’s just 22, described the two athletes as “special” and “humble,” mentioning they’re quite grounded. He appreciates their dedication to their sports—and how they maintain their physical well-being. “It’s interesting to compare sports with them,” he said, emphasizing how they can share their different lifestyles.

He also mentioned conversations about the hectic schedules of pro football players versus Formula 1 drivers. “It’s nice to talk to someone whose world is so different from mine. It gives a fresh perspective on balancing work and downtime,” he added.

Guthrie chimed in, expressing that his first impression of Kelce was that he was quite a “character,” and he enjoyed discussing the balancing act of life and fame. The 29-year-old French driver highlighted the importance of staying focused in sports, alongside the support he feels from loved ones back home.

With the surge in Kelce’s fame due to his relationship with Taylor Swift, it’s no surprise he’s embraced his new spotlight. “It’s the life I chose, and I enjoy it,” he remarked in a recent interview. After attending a lively party during last year’s Miami Grand Prix, Kelce is gearing up for another race soon. However, his team was unable to confirm his attendance this time.

As for Swift, it’s uncertain if she’ll be at the event this year, especially after missing the previous festival due to her tour commitments.

Doohan, despite the star-studded atmosphere, seems focused on his racing goals. “Honestly, I’m just here to do my job,” he stated, underscoring that his main priority is competing and not getting caught up in the celebrity aspect. He’s aiming to work well with his team.

On the other hand, Guthrie appears a bit more excited about potential celebrity encounters, recalling moments of being awed by the performances of multiple Grammy winners during tours abroad. So, it looks like the excitement is palpable, but not everyone is equally swept up in it.
