Mets vs. Cardinals bet predictions: Going with Tylor Megill

Ah, the first Saturday in May. It’s that classic American day filled with baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and—yes—a mix of other things like pro-Palestinian rallies. And, of course, it’s the moment everyone’s been waiting for: the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs.

This event is really something, one of the most thrilling two minutes in sports. But let’s not forget; it seems Shaquille O’Neal couldn’t quite handle the excitement and made a hasty exit from the TNT Studios set, presumably to, well, take care of business. Perhaps a little nervous?

As for baseball, let’s talk about the St. Louis Cardinals and their matchup against the Mets. Tylor Megill has been a standout, giving up only six runs over 31 innings. That’s impressive, especially considering three of those came from his last start against the Nationals. In contrast, Eric Fedde—well, he’s been struggling, giving up seven runs in just 16 innings against the Brewers. Yikes.

Anyway, we placed a bet of $50 on the Mets, hoping for a win. Fingers crossed on that one!

Over in the pitching realm, Max Fried has been stellar, allowing just one hit and extending his scoreless innings streak to an impressive 20²/₃ innings. Meanwhile, the Yankees had a solid game against the Rays, shutting them out 3-0 with Paul Goldschmidt hitting well.

That’s a pretty nice outcome for the Yanks, it seems—definitely a reason to celebrate.
