New York City subway clash escalates into a violent knife fight, according to police

Two men got into a fight on a Manhattan subway platform, leading to a knife duel, according to police.

Law enforcement sources reported that both men from the Bronx were arrested and are facing weapons charges.

Travis Banks, 42, and Angel Deleon, 46, were waiting for the northbound D train at the West 4th Avenue station in Greenwich Village around 4:35 PM on Friday.

According to sources, the confrontation escalated when Deleon punched Banks in the face and threatened him with a knife.

In an unexpected turn, Banks also had a knife and ended up stabbing Deleon once in the left side of his torso, as reported.

Deleon was taken to Bellevue Hospital but is reportedly in stable condition. Both men were arrested at the scene.

At least one knife was recovered, sources noted.

Banks, from the Fordham area in the Bronx, faces charges for first-degree assault and possession of a weapon. Deleon, who resides in Melrose, also received charges for assault and weapon possession.
