A mother from Kansas, whose 14-year-old son was murdered, recently clashed with the family of the convicted killer in a courtroom. This incident unfolded during a hearing for Teblis Robinson, 19, as reported by Kwch.
The altercation began on April 8 after Janet Dees urged the judge to impose the harshest sentence possible on Robinson during her courtroom appearance.
She also expressed her disdain for Robinson and his family for being present in court.
The tension escalated as Dees’ remarks stirred up emotions, leading to a heated exchange of insults before a physical confrontation erupted.
At one point, a family member of Dees stood up and punched one of Robinson’s relatives, igniting a brawl between the two families in the courtroom.
Following the incident, the District Attorney’s Office charged Dees with disorderly conduct, carrying a $500 fine, as confirmed by the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.
Additionally, several others, including Treruntasia Hutton, Derrick Parker, Trentavis Hutton, and a 16-year-old boy named Trentes Hutton, were charged with the same offense.
Before a sentence was handed down, several individuals were removed from the courtroom. Ultimately, Robinson was sentenced to 21 years and three months in prison for the murder of Trange’s “Tubby” Hutton.
In a separate incident from February, a relative of a different murder suspect, Alexander Ortiz, 21, assaulted him in court. Ortiz had been arrested by Albuquerque police for the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend, Ariana Farfan.
Video footage captured the chaos as a man leaped over a barricade to confront Ortiz, who attempted to flee. Shortly after, another individual followed suit.
Carlos Lucero, Pete Isashi, and Ortiz’s father, along with a corrections officer and an unidentified sixth man, were involved in the fracas, prompting prison guards to intervene as Lucero and Isashi struck Ortiz.
