A recent cruise turned out to be quite the disaster.
A luxurious $4 million yacht embarked on an outing this past weekend near Miami Beach, but unfortunately, 32 drenched passengers found themselves stranded in the small vessel.
This high-end yacht, known as the Lamborghini of the seas, started taking on water near the exclusive Star Island around 5 PM on Saturday. It quickly tipped almost completely underwater, leaving those on board scrambling on the deck, according to the Coast Guard’s social media update.
Eyewitness Rachel Miller described the scene, saying, “We saw a ton of police boats, like, police boats, and there was another yacht that was completely vertical in the water,” while speaking to local news.
Fortunately, all passengers were safely rescued by authorities and a nearby good Samaritan boat.
Images from the incident reveal the 63-foot black and white vessel barely visible above the water, with passengers in life jackets awaiting rescue.
Officials reported that the group was taken to the Miami Beach Marina.
The Coast Guard’s Southeastern Command expressed gratitude to the local boat operators for their help in the rescue, stating that commercial efforts are underway to remove the sunken yacht without posing any navigational hazards.
The owner of the yacht has yet to be identified.
Interestingly, despite the circumstances, some of the rescued seemed to maintain a light-hearted demeanor. An Instagram comment noted, “F-ks is not given,” suggesting that those aboard were taking selfies even as the yacht sank.
This Technomar yacht is part of a limited release, with only 11 vessels designed by a renowned Italian car manufacturer. One similar yacht belongs to former MMA fighter Conor McGregor, who purchased his model for $3.6 million in 2021.
