Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner Smith have reached a divorce settlement, but they continue to clash over their daughter, Junho’s schooling.
The “Fatal Attraction” actor and the British actress are at odds about where to enroll their 5-year-old. Turner Smith is pushing for a court order to finalize the decision. According to reports, Jackson is allegedly obstructing Turner Smith from enrolling Junho in a new school next year.
The filed documents indicate that Turner Smith, 38, has visited the proposed school and believes it would be a suitable choice since it’s near Jackson’s home. However, she claims he has declined to agree to the plan.
In her request, she asks that Jackson take responsibility for the $75,000 in legal fees related to their dispute over the school.
Additionally, Turner Smith is researching other schools, noting they are not far from Jackson’s residence. They have also settled on a temporary 50-50 custody schedule for Junho, facilitated by a mediator.
As part of the agreement, Jackson is set to pay Turner Smith $2,787 in child support, though it’s uncertain whether he is also obligated to provide any spousal support.
Representatives for both Jackson and Turner Smith have not responded to requests for comments.
Their marriage lasted nearly four years before Turner Smith filed for divorce in October 2023, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Sources mentioned that Jackson was surprised by the filing and didn’t think their issues warranted a separation.
Shortly after the divorce, rumors circulated that Jackson was romantically involved with Lupita Nyong’o, as they were spotted together during a concert in California. Their relationship became public when they were seen holding hands in Joshua Tree in December 2023, but Nyong’o later announced their split in October 2024.
