Lamborghini yacht sinks near Miami Beach, 32 people saved.

Rescue of 32 Passengers from Sinking Yacht off Miami Beach

On Saturday night, a luxury yacht began to sink off the coast of Miami Beach, leading to the rescue of 32 passengers. The vessel, a striking 63-foot technomer from Lamborghini, is valued at around $4 million and was located near Flagler Monument Island, which is quite popular in Biscayne Bay.

Various agencies, including the US Coast Guard, rushed to the scene to assist those aboard. Fortunately, all rescued individuals were reported uninjured and were checked by the Miami Beach Fire Department, according to a police spokesperson.

“Commercial rescue is underway; the situation poses no risk to navigation,” mentioned a post from USCG Southeast, giving special thanks to a nearby boat operator for their support.

The yacht was reportedly overloaded, as it is designed to accommodate up to 16 people but was carrying double that number when it started taking on water. Constructed by Lamborghini in collaboration with the Italian Sea Group, this limited-edition technomer weighs 24 tons and can reach speeds of 63 knots, or about 72 mph, and is inspired by the brand’s super sports cars.

This incident coincides with the ongoing Formula One Miami Grand Prix, which is taking place at the Miami International Autodrome from May 2nd to May 4th. Last year, the event saw more than 275,000 attendees over the weekend.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is looking into the situation, and a Coast Guard representative confirmed this to reporters.

Responses from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee, Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue, and Lamborghini are still pending.
