Trump Announces Plans for Alcatraz Reopening

NEW YORK – President Donald Trump declared his intention to instruct the government to reopen and expand Alcatraz, renowned as a notorious prison in California.

In a post on his social media platform on Sunday night, Trump expressed: “For too long, America has dealt with brutal, repeat offenders and societal issues. They’ve offered nothing but pain and hardship.”

“Today, I, along with the Department of Justice’s FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, am directing the Bureau of Prisons to significantly reopen and expand Alcatraz, which we have rebuilt.”

Alcatraz, which ceased operations in 1963, currently serves as a historical site for tourists.

Trump’s announcement follows his recent disputes with the court over his attempt to transfer members of a gang to a notorious prison in El Salvador without proper justification. He also mentioned the idea of relocating American citizens to foreign prisons.
