Trump does not dismiss the possibility of acquiring Greenland through military means.

Trump does not rule out taking Greenland by force

During a recent interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” President Trump addressed the idea of using military force concerning Greenland.

“I think there’s a possibility something could happen there,” Trump told host Kristen Welker. “To be honest, it’s important for both national and global security. I wouldn’t say it’s unlikely.”

He added, “I’m not dismissing any possibility. I can’t do that.”

Trump emphasized the importance of Greenland, stating, “It’s very essential. There are a few people there who we care for, and we take care of them, but that’s part of what we need for international security.”

Interestingly, he mentioned there had been military action involving Canada in the past. “I don’t think we’re headed that way now,” he remarked.

Trump has previously expressed thoughts about potentially acquiring Greenland and even turning Canada into the 51st state.

This rhetoric has had a significant impact on recent Canadian federal elections, resulting in the election of Prime Minister Mark Carney, who has been critical of Trump in recent months.
