President Trump is set to announce that the NFL Draft will be held in Washington, D.C. in 2027 during a press event at the White House on Monday.
The announcement is scheduled for 1 p.m., according to information released by the White House. Reports indicate that Trump intends to discuss the upcoming NFL Draft taking place at the National Mall.
A spokesperson for the White House did not provide a response to requests for further information.
According to reports, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris are expected to accompany Trump during the announcement.
The NFL Draft has rotated between various cities in recent years. For context, the draft in 2026 is planned for Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This three-day event typically draws large crowds to the host city.
Throughout the early months of his second term, Trump has made appearances at several sporting events, including the Daytona 500 and a UFC event last February.
He also voiced his thoughts on why several teams chose not to select quarterback Shedale Sanders during the NFL Draft held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where he was eventually picked up by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round.
