NFL news: Patrick Mahomes’ half-brother gets invited to Chiefs rookie camp

Patrick Mahomes’ Brother Receives Rookie Camp Invite

As the summer progresses, there’s a chance Patrick Mahomes could join the Kansas City Chiefs for the start of the 2025 season, assuming things go smoothly.

Graham Walker, the quarterback’s brother and a Super Bowl champion, got the call to attend rookie camp. Reports indicate that Walker is listed as a tight end. He made the transition from Brown University to Rice ahead of the 2024 season.

During his last season, Walker recorded 24 catches for 252 yards, and now, he’s got a shot to secure a spot as a tight end. He’s joining fellow undrafted free agents Jake Briningstool, Jared Casey, Jake Roberts, and Tre Watson, all vying for a place on the team.

The Chiefs are already stacked with players like Travis Kelsey, Noah Gray, and Jared Wylie on the 2024 roster. Wylie was a fourth-round pick last year, and former Green Bay Packers tight end Robert Tonyan has also signed with Kansas City in the offseason.

In a related note, Raiders’ Ashton Jeanti shared that he received a prank call during draft night, adding a lighthearted moment to the intense season.

Walker, by the way, is the biological son of Pat Mahomes Sr. His mother, Jessamine Walker, and stepfather, Jerry Howitt, have been supportive figures in his journey. Back in January 2024, Pat Mahomes Sr. praised both of them in an interview, emphasizing the positive upbringing they provided for their son.

He also mentioned that Patrick would likely lend a hand to Walker in his NFL pursuits. “He’s been as supportive as ever. Hopefully, this offseason, Patrick will have the chance to throw some passes to him,” he said.
