New National Security Advisor to Be Chosen in Six Months

President Donald Trump has revealed plans to appoint a new national security advisor in approximately six months.

In a statement made on Sunday, he clarified that the former advisor, Mike Waltz, hasn’t resigned but has instead been promoted to serve as the United Nations ambassador.

This announcement came during a brief press conference aboard Air Force One, where a reporter inquired about the reasons behind Waltz’s reassignment.

Trump explained that Waltz is taking on a “higher position,” emphasizing that he had not erred in his previous role. He expressed confidence that Waltz would be effective as the UN ambassador.

“I didn’t lose confidence in him,” Trump stated. “He’s going to the United Nations for a reason. To me, I think it’s personal. If I had assurance for myself… I’d rather have that job than the other.”

“There was no resignation,” he reiterated.

Another reporter later asked whether White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller was a candidate for the vacant position.

“Stephen Miller at the top of the totem pole? I mean, I think he sort of indirectly already has that job… because he has a lot to say about a lot of things,” Trump replied, highlighting Miller’s importance in the administration.

While the search for a qualified full-time replacement continues, Trump noted that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as the interim National Security Advisor along with his existing duties.
