Prime Minister’s advisor Stephen Miller, who is the deputy chief of staff for policy, is considered the leading candidate to become President Donald Trump’s next national security adviser.
During a chat with an Air Force reporter one Sunday, Trump remarked, “Stephen Miller is at the top of the totem pole. I think he indirectly already has that job.” This was reported on Monday.
“He has a lot to say about many issues. Stephen Miller is a very important figure in the administration,” Trump added.
It’s worth mentioning that the president recently appointed Mike Waltz as the national security adviser to serve as the US ambassador, according to reports.
“Waltz was nominated for the role after Trump initially selected House Republican leader Speaker Elise Stefanik (R-NY) for the position in late March. This was part of an effort to maintain the delicate House GOP majority,” the article stated.
Meanwhile, Miller has publicly criticized former President Joe Biden’s open border policy, labeling it “pure evil” due to the associated deaths and violence affecting both Americans and immigrants.
Under Biden, border chief Alejandro Mayorkas has allowed over 12 million legal, quasi-legal, and illegal immigrants into the country, influenced by Democrats in the House and Senate as well as numerous progressive advocates.
Their policies led to over 1,000 immigrant deaths while attempting to reach the US border in 2022, along with hundreds more at job sites. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that this accounted for 37.5% (315) of 839 foreign-born Hispanic or Latino workers in 2023.
Moreover, the situation is increasingly dangerous for Americans.
In contrast, Miller claimed in April that Trump’s immigration policies help save lives and protect children from harmful conditions, according to reports.
“We have already saved thousands of lives since President Trump issued his executive order to close the border and deport criminals,” he noted.
