A 10-year-old girl is missing in Texas following a flooding incident that officials say swept her away. The last known sighting was on Monday at around 4:25 PM in Brenham, a city situated between Austin and Houston.
The Brenham Fire Department reported that search efforts continued overnight, involving land crews, drones equipped with thermal imaging, and canine units. An official stated, “We are fully dedicated to finding this child and bringing her home. We encourage the community to keep her, her family, and our first responders in their thoughts and prayers.”
The Brenham Independent School District expressed gratitude for the support from local law enforcement and volunteers in their search for the girl, who was identified as a student at Brenham Elementary School. The district added that a flood during severe weather in the area led to her being reported missing.
Feeling a wave of concern, the community is coming together, hoping for a positive outcome, as search efforts involve more than a dozen agencies. “Our hearts are with the families of our students,” the district emphasized, urging everyone to keep them in their thoughts during this challenging time.
