Jill Biden Takes on New Role at Think Tank

Jill Biden has recently taken on a new position after her time in the White House. She will lead an initiative at a California think tank that focuses on enhancing women’s health.

“From endometriosis to healthy aging, the White House Initiative on Women’s Health Research has made a significant investment in research and development, but collaboration across the industry is essential for scaling these innovations,” she stated, according to a press release from the Milken Institute issued on April 29.

The Milken Institute, based in Santa Monica, is a non-partisan economic think tank that aims to address major global issues. Biden will chair the new women’s health network at this organization.

A teacher with a doctorate in education, Jill Biden is also dedicated to the Biden Cancer Moonshot Plan, which focuses on ending cancer, as well as supporting veteran families and caregivers. She has previously led the White House initiative on women’s health research.

Biden spoke at the Milken Institute’s 28th Global Conference in Beverly Hills, California. The gathering featured prominent attendees such as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and former Trump administration officials.

In her new role, Biden will emphasize “participation, collaboration, and shared behavior” within the Women’s Health Network to improve women’s health and well-being, as outlined in the think tank’s announcement of her position.

Back in 2023, former President Joe Biden signed a memorandum launching the White House initiative on women’s health research, which Jill Biden has since led. The initiative aims to enhance funding and research for women’s health.

The Biden administration has underscored that much of medical research has historically focused on men, leaving women underrepresented. They argue that medical treatments and educational materials often fail to consider women’s unique health needs.

At the recent Milken meeting, Jill Biden mentioned her husband’s enthusiasm for boosting federal funding when they initiated the women’s health initiative. “So one of the things we did was work right away,” she noted. “In just a year, I was able to invest $1 billion to advance research into women’s health.” She also highlighted improvements in how the National Institutes of Health conducts gender-specific research.

Despite reaching out, Fox News Digital did not receive a timely response from the Milken Institute for further comments on Jill Biden’s new role.

As Jill Biden begins this new chapter, it coincides with various publications raising concerns about the president’s age and mental acuity, further complicating the political landscape ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Jill Biden spent time as a professor at Northern Virginia Community College from 2009 until December 2024, and she recently noted that her husband concluded his final semester while preparing to exit the Oval Office.

Political books addressing the current administration continue to emerge, with reports of concern surrounding the president’s capabilities and decision-making. For instance, one upcoming publication outlines how President Biden chose to undergo a cognitive test earlier this year amidst worries regarding his mental health.
