Houthis Announce They Will Cease Attacking Our Ships; We Will Stop Airstrikes

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. would cease bombing the Houthis following a report from the terrorist group indicating a halt to attacks on American vessels.

This revelation came during an Oval Office meeting with the newly elected Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Kearney.

“Last night we received excellent news, as the Houthis expressed they no longer wish to continue fighting,” Trump stated.

“We have stopped the bombing, and they have surrendered. More importantly, they assured us they won’t target ships anymore—that was the key goal of our actions,” he elaborated.

This announcement follows a significant airstrike by Israel on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, aimed at destroying major airports, which was a response to a missile strike that hit Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport.

Al Mayadeen, a media outlet linked to the Iran-backed group Hezbollah, recently published an article that portrayed Houthi attacks on U.S. ships as a triumph, titled “Ansar Allah’s Victory: America Facing Defeat in the Red Sea,” just days prior to Trump’s announcement.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio echoed Trump’s statements during the same meeting, stating that U.S. bombings would cease as long as attacks on ships are halted.

“This has always been about ensuring freedom of navigation,” Rubio noted. “These are individual factions with sophisticated weapons posing threats to global shipping. Our objective is to stop that, and if it stops, we’ll halt our operations. So, this is a significant development.”
