Stabbing at UC Berkeley leads to hunt for three suspects near Lawrence Hall

A manhunt is currently underway for three individuals involved in a stabbing incident that occurred late Saturday night at the University of California, Berkeley.

A representative from the University of California Police Department reported that authorities responded to a parking area west of Lawrence Hall shortly before midnight, where they found a young man with multiple stab wounds.

In a message from the university, police indicated they are searching for the three suspects, who were seen wearing black at the time of the stabbing.

“The suspects fled the scene and their whereabouts are unknown,” a police alert stated. “UCPD is actively searching for them, and the investigation is ongoing.”

As the search continues, the University of California Police Department did not provide answers to inquiries about campus safety given the ongoing threat posed by these suspects.

This stabbing marks the second such incident in the vicinity within the past two weeks at UC Berkeley. On April 22, another young man was stabbed multiple times near the campus and was reported to be in critical condition after being taken to a local hospital.

Timothy Lawrence, 19, was arrested at the scene and charged with attempted murder and possession of a stolen vehicle. Another suspect, a 24-year-old from Fremont, California, also faced arrest but his identity was not disclosed. He sustained serious injuries and faces charges related to obstructing police officers.
