A former WWE wrestler has been charged in connection with an alleged attempt to purchase child pornography, according to prosecutors. Michael Dorosé, who wrestled as “Dumpstar” Dorosé from 1994 to 1996, is facing a charge of attempting to sexually exploit a minor, a Class D felony, following an FBI investigation into the matter.
Chris Stanford, the district attorney general for Tennessee’s 31st Judicial District, commented on the severity of the situation, stating that Dorosé’s intention to buy child sexual assault material constitutes an aggravated crime. He explained that such purchases sustain the profitability of the criminal enterprises that create and distribute this material globally.
At 56 years old, Dorosé allegedly attempted to acquire child pornography via the Dark Web on April 21, 2024, utilizing a Coinbase account for the transaction.
Coinbase alerted the FBI about the activity, which led to an investigation by local authorities including the Warren County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
During a court session in May 2025, the charges were formally announced. Dorosé voluntarily turned himself in to law enforcement, was booked, and then released after posting a $10,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Warren County Circuit Court for an arrest hearing on May 28 and could face a sentence of two to four years if convicted.
The announcement also revealed that Dorosé had been working as a DUI coordinator for the 31st Judicial District Adult Recovery Court program, often referred to as “Drug Court.” He was involved in a program for individuals with various abilities but had not interacted with children during that role and was let go immediately following the allegations.
Earlier in his life, Dorosé had transitioned to becoming an elementary school teacher for students with learning disabilities after his wrestling career. He also trained high school athletes at that time.
However, he resigned from his teaching position in 2013 after being caught selling oxycodone to an undercover agent, receiving a one-month prison sentence at that time.
In the early 90s, Dorosé was a recognizable figure in wrestling, especially known for his rivalry with Jerry “The King” Lawler and later with Paul “Triple H” Levesque before departing from WWE in 1996 to continue his career in smaller promotions globally.
