New information surfaces about deadly golf cart accident involving John Elway

A timeline of events surrounding the unfortunate accident on April 26th has come to light.

Jeff Sperbeck, aged 62, succumbed to his injuries four days later in La Quinta, California, after falling from the back of a golf cart driven by John Elway that Saturday.

Interestingly, new information suggests that Sperbeck and Elway’s group were not attending the local Stagecoach festival as initially thought.

On that day, they were accompanied by about 10 to 15 friends and family, including Sperbeck’s ex-girlfriend, his son Jack, daughter-in-law, and comedian Johnny Devenantzio.

They had just left a private event at the Madison Club and were heading to the Stagecoach, which is a country music festival in Indio, California.

To cover the short distance to Elway’s residence, the group used three or four golf carts, with Elway driving one of them.

Elway was sitting next to his girlfriend while Sperbeck’s wife, Kori, took the end seat. Sperbeck and Devenantzio stood behind the cart.

Reports indicate that Sperbeck asked his wife to sit down beforehand.

Word has it that Sperbeck fell backwards from the cart, which led to his tragic head injury.

Sources revealed that nobody was under the influence, and there was no reckless behavior—it was simply a straightforward cart ride with music playing.

Devenantzio yelled to get Elway’s attention, while Kori rushed to check on her husband, who was still breathing but showed signs of serious injury.

Elway immediately called for emergency services. They arrived swiftly and transported Sperbeck to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he was placed on life support.

Sperbeck passed away on April 30th.

The family released a heartfelt statement expressing their sorrow over the loss of Jeff Sperbeck, describing him as a devoted father, husband, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco noted that their investigation found no evidence of criminal behavior or mechanical failure with the golf cart involved.

He also mentioned that medical personnel did not find any indication of Elway being intoxicated.

TMZ later shared an image purportedly showing Elway consuming unknown substances shortly before the tragedy.

Bianco commented that this seemed to be a dreadful accident and that the involvement of a well-known figure likely complicates matters more than it should.

Sperbeck, who represented Elway during his career, later became business partners with him in the venture 7cellars, referencing former Broncos players.

In his statement, Elway conveyed immense sorrow over the unexpected loss, extending his condolences to Kori and Sperbeck’s children, who are all now left grieving. He reflected on the profound impact Sperbeck had on his life and the lives of others.
