Trump reveals new choice for surgeon general

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump announced his nomination for the new surgeon general, Dr. Casey Means. Trump stated that he believes Casey is, well, the ideal candidate and will collaborate closely with Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Together, they aim to tackle the rising issues of chronic disease in the country and enhance overall health for Americans. Trump went as far as to say that Dr. Casey has the potential to be one of the best surgeon generals in US history.

Essentially, Dr. Casey has been instrumental in shaping the administration’s health agenda, alongside his brother Carrie Means, who is a vocal supporter of the “American Health Again” initiative. Carrie has been reassigned by the administration to serve as a special adviser to Secretary Kennedy.

The Trump administration’s recent ban will phase out food dyes.

Previously, Trump had also indicated that former Fox News contributor Dr. Janet Neshwat would be appointed as the surgeon general. The reason for citing Nesheiwat’s nomination remains unclear, and inquiries have been made to the White House for further clarification.

In addition, Trump mentioned that Secretary Kennedy “looks forward to working with Dr. Janet Neshwat in another capacity within HHS.”

A broader selection of Trump’s surgeon-generals has been touted as “fierce” defenders of the administration ahead of confirmation hearings.

Recently, Neshwat expressed her eagerness to support Trump while working closely with Secretary Kennedy in a senior policy role. In her message on social media, she reiterated her commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of all Americans, noting that this mission remains unchanged.

This is a developing story.
