Hearing on Transgender Athletes in Women’s Sports Concludes in Complete Disorder

Hearing Highlights Tensions in Women’s Sports Debate

It’s clear, you might want to think twice before crossing Nancy Mace.

During a recent hearing focused on protecting women’s sports, chaos erupted when Marjorie Taylor Greene, chair of the subcommittee on Government Efficiency (DOGE), lost her composure, screaming and even smashing a gavel. It was quite the spectacle!

The hearing titled “Unfair Play: Protecting Women’s Sports” featured intense discussions, particularly between Representatives Nancy Mace (R-SC) and Lattefa Simon (D-CA). Simon sparked controversy by suggesting that championing women’s sports could lead us back to an era of racism.

A particularly heated moment occurred between Mace and Fatima Goth Graves. Mace confronted Goth Graves with a blunt inquiry: “What is a woman?” This triggered a back-and-forth that focused on identity and qualification, with Goth Graves struggling to offer clear answers while Mace continually interrupted her. Eventually, Mace dismissed Goth Graves’s responses, stating, “You sound like a madman.”

The exchange escalated as Mace and Goth Graves exchanged sharp words for over two minutes. Mace didn’t hold back, accusing Goth Graves and American fencing chair Damien Lefeld of embarrassment, calling them “groomers.”

Here’s a clip from the exchange:

Now, this is what I call political theatre! A real clash!
