The Who Reveals Their Final Tour

The Who Announces 2025 North American Tour

The legendary rock band The Who has unveiled its upcoming “Send Tour” for 2025 in North America.

On May 8th, they shared plans for their final performances in August and September this year, as they begin to bid farewell to fans after 61 years in the music industry. Guitarist Pete Townshend made the announcement during a press conference in London, with singer Roger Daltrey participating via video link.

“Well, all good things have to be over,” Townshend mentioned, adding that it’s a bittersweet moment for him. “Playing for American and Canadian audiences has always been incredible.”

The tour, named after the 1971 hit “The Song Is Over,” will kick off on August 16th in Sunrise, Florida. The Who has planned stops in Boston, Toronto, Los Angeles, Chicago, Las Vegas, and several other cities. As of now, they haven’t announced any dates for performances outside the US and Canada.

Reflecting on their journey, Townshend recalled, “The warmth and engagement of these audiences started back in 1967, when music was a huge part of life.” He continued, mentioning the late drummer Keith Moon and bassist John Entwistle, expressing gratitude towards their long-time fans.

Daltrey also shared his thoughts, stating, “The dream of every musician in the early ’60s was to make it big in the US. For us, that dream came true in 1967 and changed our lives forever.” He elaborated on how the warmth of American audiences has inspired him, recalling the first rock record he heard on the radio.

He emphasized, “For me, America has always been a remarkable place. The cultural differences have had a huge impact on me. It was a land of possibilities.”

Tickets will be available for the WHO Fan Club starting May 13th, and general sales are set to begin on May 16th.

The Who is recognized as one of the most iconic and influential rock bands, playing a significant role in shaping the music scene of the 1960s and 70s. With millions of records sold globally and a legacy of groundbreaking music, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
