“Can’t Accept Your Own Truths”: Harris Faulkner Disagrees with What the Democratic Guest Is Saying

Discussion on White House Leadership and Economic Claims

On Friday, Fox News host Harris Faulkner confronted Democratic strategist Fred Hicks, sidestepping questions about who was truly in charge during Joe Biden’s presidency.

This conversation followed Biden and his wife, former First Lady Jill Biden, appearing on “The View,” where they countered claims from a recent book suggesting Biden is experiencing cognitive decline. Faulkner turned her attention to Hicks, referencing an award bestowed upon Axios reporter Alex Thompson at a White House correspondent’s dinner.

“So, Fred, who was actually running the White House? We’re seeing more Democrats stepping forward now,” Faulkner asked. “I received the award because I noticed the coverage at that dinner; it feels like a cover-up to me. Do you know who’s in charge?”

In response, Hicks stated, “What we know is that there’s been significant work and economic growth.” Faulkner replied, “Incredible.”

A recently published Wall Street Journal article indicated Biden’s aides had been shielded from his declining health, affecting even those in his cabinet. Hicks noted, “We managed to reverse four years of Trumpism and reduce inflation.” However, Faulkner interrupted to clarify statistics.

“Hold on, Trump had an inflation rate of 1.4% at the end of his first term, while Biden’s soared to over 9%. I’m not trying to avoid your questions, but we can’t just create our own facts, right?”

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) hit a four-year high of 9% in June 2022, coinciding with Biden’s enactment of various spending initiatives, including the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, despite warnings that inflation could rise.
