Stunning clifftop getaway, armored Mercedes, and a $520K gold ring

A remarkable change is on the horizon!

Pope Leo XIII is set to receive an impressive gold ring, a luxurious apartment, and a top-of-the-line bulletproof vehicle. This marks a significant shift from his earlier days as a missionary and his modest upbringing in the Chicago suburbs.

At a grand ceremony next week, the former Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost will be presented with the Fisherman’s Ring, a cherished symbol within the Catholic Church.

This distinctive ring, inscribed with his name and featuring an image of the apostle St. Peter, has deep ties to ancient religious traditions.

He will also have access to splendid accommodations in the Apostolic Palace in Rome, including a retreat at Castel Gandolfo. This expansive 135-acre estate offers stunning vistas of Lake Albano, located just outside the city.

Additionally, he’s expected to inherit a sleek, electric white Mercedes-Benz, reportedly valued at around $500,000 and designed to withstand attacks.

Pope Leo is recognized for his commitment to aiding the poor, having worked as a farmer and dedicated missionary in rural Peru, all while growing up in humble settings in a working-class area of Chicago.

His predecessor, Pope Francis, who recently passed away at 88, opted for a simpler lifestyle. He chose to live in the guesthouse at Casa Santa Marta within Vatican City instead of moving into the opulent Pope’s apartment.

Moreover, he repurposed the Castel Gandolfo residence into a museum rather than utilizing it as a vacation retreat, which features a pool and an organic farm.

Pope Leo has suggested that he may uphold the legacy of his predecessor, but it’s tempting to enjoy the luxurious lifestyle that comes with the papal position.

“This becomes a long-lasting choice until the clergy desires to maintain it that way,” remarked Sandro Barbario, curator of the Vatican Museums, in 2016.

“It implies that a future Pope could decide to reclaim the residence and restore its private status.”
