Ohio Republicans Endorse Vivek Ramaswamy for Governor

Ohio Republicans have officially backed Vivek Ramaswamy as their candidate for governor. The State Central Committee expressed overwhelming support, with a vote tally of 60 in favor, three against, and one abstention.

A press release highlighted that this backing shows a significant grassroots enthusiasm for Ramaswamy’s candidacy. Ramaswamy, in a statement, shared his gratitude for receiving formal approval from the state party, saying he felt “honored” by the support.

“We are pleased to receive official endorsement from the Ohio Republicans to become Ohio’s next governor. I truly appreciate the majority vote from the Republican National Central Committee,” he noted in a statement highlighted in the release.

He extended special thanks to several individuals, including President Trump, State Senator Bernie Moreno, and various members of the Ohio legislative delegation like Jim Jordan and Warren Davidson, as well as Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose.

President Trump showed immediate support for Ramaswamy’s gubernatorial bid, publicly praising him on February 24. Trump stated, “Vivek Ramaswamy is running for governor of Ohio’s great state. I know him well and we’ve competed. He’s special.” Trump added, “He’s young, strong, and clever! Vivek is a good person who truly loves our country. He would be a fantastic governor and has my full backing.”

This endorsement coincided with Ramaswamy’s official announcement of his candidacy. He expressed his belief in revitalizing the spirit of America, emphasizing the need for a leader in Ohio who can bring a fresh perspective. “I am proud to announce my run for governor of this great nation at the heart of the greatest country known to humanity,” he stated.

Ramaswamy also reflected on his Ohio roots, mentioning his commitment to raising his family in the state. “The best days are still ahead,” he concluded, expressing his eagerness to serve as Ohio’s next governor.
