Francisco Lindor of the Mets changes his walk-up music significantly.

Francisco Lindor Introduces New Walk-Up Song

It seems the allure was just too much for Francisco Lindor to resist changing up his walk-up song.

Since May of last year, the Mets shortstop had been using “My Girl” as his choice, but during the Cubs series opener on Friday, he announced he would be alternating with a new track: “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammy Terrell.

In fact, when Lindor came to the plate for his second at-bat, fans could hear the new tune playing.

🎶 Ain’t no mountain high enough, ain’t no valley low…🎶

According to Steve Gelbs, a reporter for SNY, Lindor has chosen fan-favorite songs from The Temptations for this change.

Last season during the playoffs, The Temptations even performed “My Girl” at the ballpark before Game 5, adding a special touch to a memorable moment when the Mets clinched a victory.

“Honestly, it was an amazing experience,” Lindor shared post-game. “Most players pick songs that resonate with them, but they really want fans to vibe with what’s playing. It’s pretty special when the whole crowd gets into it.”

“Seeing The Temptations perform the national anthem and then one of their big hits, it was just something else,” he continued.

Despite considering the idea of dropping “My Girl” altogether, Lindor realized how much it resonated with fans who crave variety.

In his first at-bat of Friday’s game, he hit a leadoff home run right after “My Girl” played, giving the Mets an early 1-0 lead. However, things didn’t go as smoothly in his second at-bat with the new song playing.
