Several Explosions Noted During Live Coverage in Srinagar

Srinagar: Recent Explosions Intensify Tensions

Reports from NDTV indicate that multiple explosions were heard in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting escalating tensions with Pakistan.

On the evening of May 8th-9th, Pakistan deployed 300-400 drones, notably a Turkish-made Ashigaard Songar model. Many of these drones were intercepted through movement strategies and electronic warfare, utilizing defense systems like Barak-8, S-400, Akash SAMS, and local anti-drone technology.

This morning at 6 AM, during a live segment by Shiv Aroor on NDTV, more explosions were audible from Srinagar. Targets included locations like Srinagar Airport, Awantapola Air Base, Nagrota, Jammu, Patankot, Fazilka, and Jaisalma.

A drone attack on a civilian area in Ferozpur left three local family members injured, though military facilities in India remained unharmed.

In response to these events, Pakistan closed its airspace for all flights this morning, alleging that India was using commercial aircraft as cover during drone operations. This decision was made amidst heightening tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations, as communicated to airlines through a NOTAM.

India has accused Pakistan of jeopardizing international air traffic while maintaining open airspace during drone and missile activities.

Additionally, a significant explosion was reported early Saturday across several air bases in Pakistan, including a key site near Islamabad, prompting the Pakistani government to restrict all private and commercial air traffic.
