Stabbing Incident at Chelsea Mixed Martial Arts Gym
Last Saturday, a fighter was thrown out of a Chelsea gym and subsequently stabbed three times by former members who had returned looking for management, according to officials.
Caleb Perry, 23, was involved in an altercation at a mixed martial arts and self-defense gym located on West 29th Avenue. During the fight, he reportedly stabbed a 24-year-old victim in the back with a knife.
Sources indicated that Perry had canceled his gym membership last year for reasons not disclosed. He was arrested at the scene by the police.
The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Perry now faces charges of attempted murder, assault, and robbery. He was awaiting his arraignment following his arrest on Saturday.
