Pioneer Woman star Ree Drummond recently opened up about her ongoing health journey. Reflecting on the past four years, she revisited a 2021 blog post where she shared insights on how she managed to lose over 50 pounds.

After taking a break from her routine for about a year, Drummond noted that she had put on some weight but is now committed to plans that had previously worked well for her. “It’s been quite the adventure! I’m just human, after all, so I’ve gone through natural ups and downs since that original post,” she explained. She mentioned stopping her exercise routine at the end of last year and losing track of her eating habits.

In her recent update, she revealed that in February of this year, she decided to return to the weight loss plan that had previously been effective for her. “I found it still worked like clockwork,” she remarked, acknowledging that it wasn’t as rigorous as before.

Drummond reflected on the challenges she faced initially, particularly during the first week, which she described as hard, though she’s now feeling much better overall. She shared that her new approach includes some modifications to her previous plan while keeping the core principles intact.

She underscored two significant changes in her routine: focusing on building muscle through exercises like lunges and squats, and increasing her protein intake. Interestingly, she mentioned that she no longer measures food or counts calories, having gained a clearer sense of portion sizes through experience.

Additionally, Drummond recalled giving up drinking for four months during her initial weight loss but hasn’t done so this time around. She now enjoys a wine spritzer, combining white wine with sparkling water. “I love the Happy Scale app,” she added, mentioning its usefulness in monitoring her weight throughout the process.

To sum up, she emphasized the importance of building muscle and incorporating protein into her diet, which played a crucial role in her recent success. Despite a stubborn scale at first, she tackled her workout routine again and saw positive results within a week.
