Country star Lainey Wilson discovered her ‘greatest supporter’ in her fiancé.

Rainey Wilson is officially engaged. During a chat on the ACM Awards red carpet, the singer of “Water Meat Moon Shine” expressed her surprise and excitement when her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, popped the question. She mentioned feeling “totally shocked” but thrilled to be with someone who supports her so well, saying, “He’s my biggest fan, high fives as I walk through the door, and high fives as he leaves—it’s just perfect.”

The 32-year-old country artist revealed their engagement on Instagram back in February 2025, sharing the moment through a photo. They actually made their relationship public at the ACM Awards in May 2023, but they had been dating privately for two and a half years before that.

“He’s my biggest fan. He high fives me in the middle of the door, he high fives me on his way out, and that’s all I can ask for.”

In a video, Wilson noted that she felt Hodges was gearing up to propose. She shared some pre-proposal jitters about how she would feel if it didn’t go as planned. The couple had a lovely day planned at George Jones’ property, and to her delight, Hodges had set up a beautiful scene with candles and photos for the proposal.

Wilson also ventured into acting, appearing in the premiere of “Yellowstone” Season 5 in November 2022, portraying a character named Abby who develops a romance with a ranch hand. Currently, she’s preparing to star in a film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s “His Reminder,” saying she’s eager to step outside her usual comfort zone for this role. “You can really challenge yourself with a character you’ve never portrayed before,” she explained.

Her journey in country music began over 13 years ago when she moved from a small town in Louisiana to Nashville. After persistent effort, Wilson broke through with her hit single “Things ‘What the Man Knows,” which topped the Billboard Country Airplay Chart.

Sharing a bit about her upbringing, Wilson humorously credited her parents for her strong work ethic, noting they supported her dreams from the very start. After recently securing her second consecutive Artist Award at the ACM Awards, she reflected on the importance of hard work within her family, emphasizing their deep roots in agriculture.
