Shedeur Sanders shared a photo on Sunday with his teammates during the Cleveland Browns rookie minicamp as he begins his quest to secure a spot on the team’s final roster for the season.
Alongside him, Dillon Gabriel is one of five quarterbacks listed on the roster, both having been selected in the 2025 NFL Draft. They join seasoned players Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett, while Deshaun Watson is anticipated to miss the entire season due to an Achilles injury sustained in the offseason.
Mason Graham, another pick for the Browns, also participated in the minicamp this past weekend.
“I appreciate all the players in the Rookie Mini Camp. We built a great rapport during our time together,” Sanders mentioned on X.
Interestingly, he was the last to leave the field on Friday, possibly trying to shift focus from his noticeable drop in the draft, having slipped from a predicted second pick to the fifth. Yet, he seemed inspired by his mentor, Tom Brady, hinting at a similar journey.
Sanders expressed confidence, stating, “My story will be like his. I might be a late-round draft pick, but it’s all about being here now, and that day meant a lot.”
As time progresses, he faces the real challenge ahead, aiming to climb the ranks for the starting quarterback position with the Browns.
